On July 28, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan Qian Naicheng.
During the conversation, the parties, expressing satisfaction with the current pace of development of bilateral partnership in a wide range, discussed issues of cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The diplomats paid special attention to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and China’s National People's Congress (NPC), and also touched upon international and regional topics of mutual interest.
The parties highly appreciated the prospects for using the potential of the two countries in building up bilateral trade and economic cooperation, as well as in the interests of developing regional and international partnerships. The importance of continuing joint work in such areas as transport, energy, and agriculture was also noted.
