Today, on November 2, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Khusrav Noziri via videoconference.
During the meeting, a range of issues related to the preparations for the next 26th meeting of the ECO Council of Foreign Ministers at the end of this year was discussed.
As is known, on November 28, 2021, in Ashgabat, under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan, was held at a high level the 15th Summit of the leaders of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization, in frames of which important decisions and documents were adopted, new conditions were created for further close cooperation between the ECO countries.
In particular, the final document adopted at the Summit - the Ashgabat Consensus for Actions is designed to bring cooperation between the participating countries to a qualitatively new level, and is also focused on enhancing interstate links in the areas of trade, transport, energy, tourism and the fight against the pandemic.
The upcoming meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of this Organization is aimed at continuing the implementation of initiatives and large-scale projects put forward at the Summit of Leaders of the ECO Member States in Ashgabat in 2021.
