On November 18, 2022, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye Mustafa Shentop, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit at the head of the parliamentary delegation of his country.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the guest conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the head of state, who addressed the wishes of well-being and prosperity to all the Turkmen people.
Welcoming the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Turkiye, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction the high level and progressive dynamics of the traditionally friendly, constructive interstate dialogue. Conveying best wishes in return to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the head of state noted that Turkmenistan also aims to further develop mutually beneficial Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, which is gaining new content every year.
In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the talks and meetings planned during the current visit of the Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly to Ashgabat would give a new impetus to bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Expressing deep gratitude to the head of Turkmenistan for the honor, the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye stressed that, for his part, he would continue to fully contribute to the strengthening of inter-parliamentary contacts aimed at building up a fruitful dialogue between the two countries.
An integral part of the Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, of course, are inter-parliamentary relations. Here, great importance is attached to intensifying contacts between legislative bodies, holding meetings and consultations, which will allow us to form a modern legal basis for partnership. In this aspect, the visit of the Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly to our country is considered as an important step in this direction.
At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Turkiye Mustafa-Sentop expressed confidence that the traditional interstate cooperation, based on strong ties of friendship and the invariable good will of the parties, would continue to grow stronger and successfully develop for the common good.
