On July 19, 2017 the fourth meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov, the Republic of Azerbaijan E.Mammadyarov and the Republic of Turkey M.Chavushoglu was held in Baku.
The main goal of the meeting was the preparation for the Summit of the Heads of the three states, which will be held till the end of this year in Turkmenistan.
In this context, the foreign ministers discussed a number of issues related to further cooperation between the three countries and identified priority areas for trilateral cooperation in the long term, among which trade-economic cooperation, energy, transport and the cultural-humanitarian sphere play an important role.
The parties also analyzed the implementation of the trilateral Framework Cooperation Program for 2015-2017, adopted in January 2015 in Ashgabat.
Following the meeting, a joint statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey was signed.
After the trilateral meeting, the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey held a joint press conference.
Within the framework of participation in the fourth meeting of the foreign ministers, separate meetings of R. Meredov with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan E. Mammadyarov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey M.Chavushoglu were held, during which issues of development of cooperation in the political, economic, energy, transport and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
