On September 23, 2016 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Mr. Ian Hill.
At the beginning of the meeting the Ambassador presented copies of his credentials. Then, the sides exchanged views on various issues of international agenda. In this context, the representative of New Zealand commended the foreign policy of Turkmenistan and creative initiatives for peace and stability in the region and in the world.
Speaking about the prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and New Zealand, the ambassador marked his country's interest in development of bilateral cooperation, taking into account the use of common approaches and objectives in strengthening stability and security.
During the conversation the sides discussed the need to develop a fruitful dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries. Among the priority areas of cooperation, it was noted cooperation within international organizations, primarily the UN and the EU.
