On September 1, 2016 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Ahmet Arslan, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the trilateral meeting of the heads of transport departments of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting the sides discussed prospective directions of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation in transport and logistics. In this context, the role of transport and transit corridors in sustainable development has been marked. Expressing focus on the further development of bilateral relations in this area, the sides noted the importance of full cooperation between all modes of transport to create a multilateral transport and transit corridors.
At the end of the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamically developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey, and underlined the need to further support the regular contacts at various levels.
