On September 22, 2023, a telephone conversation took place between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President Vladimir Putin.
The Russian leader cordially congratulated the head of Turkmenistan on his birthday, wishing him good health, prosperity and further success in responsible government activities.
President Vladimir Putin also noted the enormous contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in strengthening effective bilateral cooperation and conveyed greetings and best wishes to Arkadag.
The President of Russia also thanked the head of the Turkmen state for the humanitarian assistance provided to the children of the Primorsky Territory of Russia.
Expressing gratitude to President of Russia for warm congratulations, the head of state noted with satisfaction that today the partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, based on long-standing ties of friendship, trust and mutual understanding, is at high level and develops across the widest spectrum.
During the conversation, noting that Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation effectively cooperate both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations, the interlocutors confirmed their mutual commitment to further deepening Turkmen-Russian relations in the spirit of in-depth strategic partnership.
The trade and economic sphere occupies a special place on the agenda of interstate relations, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin stated with satisfaction, highlighting energy, trade, transport and agriculture among the promising sectors of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The topics of discussion also included the actively maintained cultural and humanitarian dialogue and consistently implemented inter-parliamentary contacts.
At the same time, the interlocutors emphasized that the established direct ties between Turkmenistan and the largest constituent entities of the Russian Federation serve as a clear example of the successful development of bilateral relations.
