The Ambassador of Chile presented copies of his credentials

On October 3, 2010, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chile in Turkmenistan (with residence in Ankara) Mr. José Manuel Silva.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador presented copies of his credentials. After congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment to the responsible post, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to provide all kinds of assistance and support to activities aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. Discussing the state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations, the sides noted the high level of political cooperation, as well as interaction within the framework of international organizations. In this context, the parties expressed interest in organizing high-level visits for the further raising the relations to a new level.

During the talks, the sides noted the need to further expand the fruitful dialogue on the line of foreign affairs ministries, as well as the parties' interest in developing relations between the business structures of the two countries. Opening the prospects for development of trade and economic cooperation, the parties noted a number of areas, among which were the electrical energy, textile and agro-industrial spheres.

Noting the role of cultural and humanitarian relations, the sides expressed a number of proposals for organizing joint events. The parties expressed interest in the development of tourist relations. In this context, Mr. Ambassador noted the role of the rich culture and antiquity of the history of Turkmenistan.
