October 12, 2017 in the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, Muscat city, political consultations were held between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the Sultanate of Oman. The delegation of the Omani side was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Mohammed bin Avadh Al Hassan.
Issues of mutual interest were on the agenda of bilateral political consultations. In particular, issues of development of relations in political, trade-economic, energy, transport and communication spheres were discussed.
To ensure mutually beneficial cooperation, the need to strengthen the legal framework was noted. In order to consider complex issues to expand cooperation, the parties discussed the possibility of establishing a joint Turkmen-Oman Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, stressing the opening of new opportunities for the development of relations in the transport and communication sphere, the sides noted that the practical implementation of the agreements on the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman transport corridor will give an additional impetus to the development of mutually beneficial multilateral relations.
