On June 11, 2024, a meeting was held in the capital between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol, who is in Turkmenistan on a state visit.
Upon arrival at the capital's Arkadag Hotel, which became the venue for the meeting, the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Kon-Hee, who accompanied him during the visit, were cordially greeted by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his wife Ogulgerek Berdimuhamedova. Then a meeting took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the head of a friendly state. Expressing sincere gratitude for the warm welcome, President Yoon Suk Yeol confirmed the continued interest of the Republic of Korea in multifaceted cooperation with Turkmenistan.
Then the meeting continued in the format of a working meeting with the participation of members of the delegations of the two countries. The subject of interested discussion and exchange of views were issues of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, which is a priority area of interstate relations.
At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol expressed confidence that interstate relations, based on long-standing traditions of friendship, principles of mutual respect, trust and mutual goodwill, will continue to develop in an upward direction, and all joint plans will be successfully implemented.
A cultural program was organized for the wife of the President of the Republic of Korea, who accompanied him during the visit. Together with the wife of Hero-Arkadag, the guest toured the exhibition unfolded in the hotel lobby, which made it possible to get acquainted with the unique cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, their original traditions and customs passed on from generation to generation.

As a sign of the unbreakable Turkmen-Korean friendship, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, presented the President of the Republic of Korea with two Alabai puppies.

On the same day, the Turkmen-Korean business forum was held in Ashgabat with the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol. The venue for the joint business forum was the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. Here, the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol was warmly greeted by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Before the start of the forum, Hero-Arkadag and the head of a friendly state together toured the exhibition, which provided a visual representation of the economic achievements of Turkmenistan and the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.
Then, the opening of the Turkmen-Korean business forum took place in the Great Conference Hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
