On October 26, 2017, at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the Deputy Minister, the Director General for Foreign and Political Affairs of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Marshik, who arrived on a working visit to the Turkmen capital.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the state and prospects of the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Austria. In this context, the parties noted the role of visits at high levels. The issues of strengthening cooperation in the spheres of politics, economy and culture were discussed. Among the priority areas of cooperation were issues of cooperation within the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN, the EU and the OSCE.
Issues of preparation for the Vienna Ministerial Meeting on December 7-8, 2017 were also discussed.
In addition, within the framework of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on opportunities for expanding cooperation in science and education. In this context, the parties discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects. Speaking about the high level of cultural relations, the parties noted the role of the Austrian-Turkmen Friendship Society.
