From June 30 to July 1, 2024 in Doha, the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan A.Gurbanov took part in the Third Meeting of Special Envoys on Afghanistan, held under the auspices of the UN.
During the meeting, participants, including a delegation of the current Afghan authorities, exchanged views on the contemporary political, economic and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, prospects for expanding the capabilities of the private sector in Afghanistan and the fight against illicit drug trafficking.
In his speech, the head of the delegation of Turkmenistan noted the consistent activities of Turkmenistan to provide comprehensive assistance to the Afghan people, based on the principles of good neighborliness and humanism, which was initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and today successfully continues by the President of Turkmenistan.
In addition, it was stated that the exhibition of goods and services of Afghanistan, the Turkmen-Afghan business forum, and the visit of entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan to Herat held this year in Ashgabat contribute to the expansion of trade relations between the private sector of both countries.
A.Gurbanov also emphasized that Turkmenistan, in accordance with its international obligations, in close cooperation with other states and international organizations, is pursuing an active policy of combating drug trafficking and other negative challenges of our time.
