A meeting was held with the IOM regional coordinator for Central Asia

On September 19, 2024, a meeting was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Regional coordinator of the International Organization for Migration for Central Asia (IOM) Zeynal Hajiyev.

An exchange of views took place on current issues of interaction between Turkmenistan and the IOM and joint tasks were outlined to further expand cooperation.

The parties noted the importance of the implementation of international norms of migration management into national legislation and effective realization of migration laws.

Issues on improving and updating the contractual-legal partnership were considered.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors expressed mutual interest in further enhancing cooperation.
