On November 13, 2017 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the Minister of State for External Affairs of the Republic of India Mr. Mobashar Javed Akbar, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the VII Ministerial Conference on Regional Economic Cooperation for Afghanistan (RECCA VII).
Expressing gratitude for active involvement in the processes of peaceful revival of Afghanistan, ensuring sustainable development of the Central Asian region, the parties noted their commitment to active work within the framework of RECCA VII.
The subject of an interested exchange of views became the opportunities for expanding Turkmen-Indian cooperation in the political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other fields. Underlining the mutual interest in the further development of the established productive dialogue, the sides discussed issues of bilateral partnership in the fields of the chemical industry, energy and transport.
Discussing the issues of partnership in the fuel and energy sphere, the parties stressed the importance of the construction of the transnational gas pipeline TAPI. In addition, the sides noted the role of cultural and humanitarian relations in the further intensification of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and India.
