On December 10, 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova had a meeting with Director of the UNESCO Almaty Regional Office Amir Piric.
During the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction the high dynamics of Turkmenistan’s cooperation with UNESCO.
They considered current issues of interaction and fulfillment of the agreements reached previously.
In particular, it was noted that in accordance with the “Framework Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNESCO on the Establishment of a Trust Fund”, Turkmenistan transferred the necessary funds to the account of UNESCO to be used in the implementation of joint projects in the field of environmental protection, preservation of monuments of cultural heritage, restoration of objects.
In addition, the parties agreed to continue work on the development of the Country Action Plan between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNESCO for 2025-2027.
