On December 18, 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov started his official visit to Malaysia.
Officials of Turkmenistan led the Head of State at the International Airport of Ashgabat.
The development of constructive relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region is one of the priority vectors of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan based on the principles of neutrality, peacefulness, mutually beneficial and equal cooperation with all interested countries of the world.
The strategy initiated by the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in this regard is steadily continued by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Turkmenistan and Malaysia have friendly relations based on traditions of mutual respect. Presently, collaboration between the two countries is successfully developing within the framework of international organizations, in particular, within the framework of the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations.
In this regard, the traditional relations between the two countries serve as a clear evidence of effective cooperation. Bilateral relations are regularly developing and strengthening in various spheres, including trade-economic, as well as cultural-humanitarian vector.
The role of high-level reciprocal visits is very important in the development of interstate cooperation. In this regard, the official and state visits of the National Leader of Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, to Malaysia in 2011 and 2016, as well as the visits of the Heads of Government of Malaysia to Turkmenistan in 2014 and 2019 are clear evidence of that.
The bilateral documents signed during the visits create a solid legal and contractual framework for cooperation.
This first visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Malaysia and the upcoming high-level talks will be another step in deepening traditional relations and expanding their scope.
Today, the President’s aircraft landed at the International Airport of the Malaysian capital, decorated with the national flags of the two countries.
From the airport, the Head of State headed to the residence reserved for the official visit.
