On August 29, 2016 the National Theatre of Bucharest hosted the official opening of the annual "Festival of Embassies," which was attended by the diplomatic missions accredited in Romania. Embassy of Turkmenistan in Bucharest organized the exposition, dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan and the declaration of 2016 as a "Year of honoring the heritage, transforming the Motherland."
In the exhibition hall of Turkmenistan it has been exposed the national handmade carpets, traditional costumes and musical instruments, objects of decorative art, scientific works of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as various publications about Turkmenistan.
The organizers of the festival are the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Bucharest City Hall and the NGO "Association Esku". The festival is very popular among residents and visitors of the city of Bucharest. Work of the Festival will run until 4th of September. It is expected that this year the number of visitors to the festival will exceed 50 thousand people.
