On January 7, 2025, a meeting was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov.
The parties noted the significance of the meeting at the beginning of the year, declared upon the initiative of Turkmenistan as the International Year of Peace and Trust during the 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly on March 21, 2024.
In this regard, it was noted that Turkmenistan intends to cooperate with international partners in holding events in line with the spirit of the International Year of Peace and Trust, in particular with Uzbekistan.
In addition, an exchange of views took place on further development of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
