On November 14, 2017 in the premises of the MFA of Turkmenistan the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov had a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan with the status of the Federal Minister, Mr. Sartaj Aziz.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of relations, and exchanged views on issues of the international agenda. Noting the active foreign policy partnership between Turkmenistan and Pakistan, the sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level. In addition, the parties discussed the issues of further development of bilateral relations in the fuel and energy and transport and communication fields.
During the conversation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan expressed his commitment to further development of effective multilateral cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the UN, OIC and ECO. The Federal Minister of Pakistan noted the effectiveness of the policy of neutrality of Turkmenistan, which plays an important role in ensuring peace and stability in the region. In this context, the sides made proposals on combining activities in the energy, transport and economic system aimed at realizing economic opportunities, natural resources and geographical location of the countries of the Asian region.
