On November 28-29, 2017 Tbilisi hosted Silk Road Forum which gathered high-ranking officials from different countries, representatives of international organizations and private sector. Tbilisi Silk Road Forum represents a great opportunity to deepen economic, cultural and political ties between Asia and Europe. The prospects for deepening cooperation and ties in the sphere of international trade, the issues related to E-Commerce, digital connectivity, transport infrastructure, as well as energy - transregional opportunities were discussed within the framework of the Forum.
On the first day of the Silk Road Forum, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia organized the Special Panel session dedicated to the presentation of the book of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Turkmenistan – heart of the Great Silk Road”.
Presentation was attended by the Chairman of Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce Mr. Lu Jianzhong, Chairman of Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ms. Nino Chikovani, representatives of the ministries and agencies of Georgia, as well as delegates of the Forum.
During the presentation it was noted that the new book of the head of the Turkmenistan reflects the concept of modern development of Turkmenistan, based on historical experience, traditions of peacemaking and good-neighborliness, reverence of the spiritual heritage of the Turkmen nation, its intention for regional and global integration and progress. The multi-faceted analysis of the Great Silk Road, which played a great role in the development of economic, diplomatic, scientific and cultural ties between East and West, justifies the role of Turkmenistan, which occupies a favorable geopolitical position, in the integration processes of our time.
Those present have expressed a great interest in a new book of President of Turkmenistan and stressed the importance of the book in popularizing the spiritual, historical and cultural aspects of the phenomenon of the Great Silk Road, in covering the history of the Great Silk Road and Turkmenistan's role in strengthening trade, economic and cultural ties between the countries of the region.
At the end of the presentation all participants have received a book of President of Turkmenistan as a gift.
