On December 4, 2017, a Turkmen-Austrian business forum was held in the capital hotel "Archabil", for participation in which a representative delegation of the Austrian Republic arrived in Ashgabat.
From the Austrian side the business forum was attended by representatives of several government agencies and organizations, and 24 companies specialized in the field of trade, health, agriculture, transport and logistics, energy, engineering, engineering technology, construction, tourism and others. From the Turkmen side, the leaders and specialists of the sectoral ministries and departments, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, representatives of enterprises and companies producing products oriented for export took part in the forum.
As the forum participants noted, that its main tasks are the acquaintance with the economic potential of Turkmenistan, strengthening and establishing mutually beneficial long-term relations with representatives of the non-state sector of the national economy. Representatives of the Austrian delegation expressed special interest of business circles of Austria in building productive ties with the private sector of Turkmen economy exposed the most important aspect of the state strategy of the President of Turkmenistan.
Stressing that in recent years positive experience of foreign trade relations with the countries of the European Union, in particular with the Republic of Austria has been accumulated, the forum participants noted the existence of favorable conditions for the intensification of bilateral relations in the economic, cultural, humanitarian and scientific-educational spheres.
Vectors of further cooperation were also discussed during bilateral meetings between representatives of the ministries and departments and businessmen of Turkmenistan with representatives of the delegation of the Austrian Republic.
Thus, summing up the results of the forum, participants stressed the importance of holding such meetings on a regular basis in order to develop similar approaches to the formation of a common platform for further effective interaction.
