On December 11, 2017, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the Director for bilateral political relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic, Shefik Vural Altai, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to take part in the celebrations of the International Day of Neutrality and the 10th anniversary of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.
During the talks held in an open, businesslike and constructive atmosphere, issues of positive interaction between foreign ministries, strengthening and developing political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation were considered.
The sides stated that Turkmenistan and Turkey support the development of the political dialogue, above all, at the highest level, as well as the intensification of economic cooperation between the two countries.
At the meeting, the sides stressed the role of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries as an important component of the interstate dialogue. In this context, it was noted that Turkmenistan and Turkey should strengthen interaction within the framework of international organizations, such as the UN, on regional and global security issues.
