On December 11, 2017 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation A.Pankin.
During the conversation, a brief review of the current state of relations was made and proposals were voiced for the further development of bilateral cooperation. As the participants of the meeting noted, the Turkmen-Russian partnership is of a strategic nature. This is confirmed by regular bilateral meetings and top-level talks, including in the framework of major international events. Priority attention of the parties was paid to the implementation of the agreements at a high level.
The sides noted the progressive and constructive nature of cooperation between the countries, based on the principles of strategic partnership, mutual understanding and trust. In the context of further development of bilateral trade and economic ties, an important role is assigned to the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation. The parties paid special attention to cooperation in the energy and communications spheres.
