Friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag to the People’s Republic of China concluded
On March 19, 2026, during his visit to the People’s Republic of China, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag visited the International Equestrian Complex “Equuleus.”
At the main entrance of the complex, Hero-Arkadag was warmly welcomed by leaders of the China Horse Industry Association, representatives of academic circles, and officials of the “Equuleus” international equestrian complex.
Representatives of the Chinese side then introduced Hero-Arkadag to the facilities. Along the carpeted walkway, a group of musicians performed national melodies using traditional Chinese instruments.
During the tour, Hero-Arkadag also viewed a carpet depicting an Akhal-Teke horse. A horse presentation was organized in honor of the distinguished guest, and Chinese dog breeds were also showcased.
While touring the complex, Chinese representatives spoke about their work in training sport horses and organizing international competitions.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also inspected Akhal-Teke horses. Following ancient Turkmen traditions, Hero-Arkadag tied an alaja around the neck of one of the horses.
He then visited an art exhibition held in the administrative building of the complex. The exhibition highlighted the significant role of the Akhal-Teke horse in world cultural heritage.
After viewing the exhibition, Hero-Arkadag met with members of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association and Chinese admirers of the breed.
Opening the meeting, Ms. Wang Jian, founder of the “Equuleus” international Equestrian Complex, expressed her gratitude to Hero-Arkadag for visiting and respectfully gave him the floor.
At the beginning of his speech, Hero-Arkadag expressed his gratitude to the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, for the invitation to visit China, noting that he was pleased to meet with members of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association and Chinese enthusiasts.
He noted that during the visit, a magnificent Akhal-Teke horse named Gadyrly was presented as a gift on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan. He emphasized that a horse gifted 12 years ago had become a symbol of strengthening relations between the two countries.
Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that the newly presented horse would also contribute to further strengthening bilateral relations and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation, highlighting the unique qualities of the Akhal-Teke breed.
“In our country, we celebrate Akhal-Teke horses twice a year. One of these occasions is the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, which will be marked on the last Sunday of next month,” he said.
“We established the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association, headquartered in Ashgabat,” Hero-Arkadag continued, noting that he had previously served as its President. Today, the President of the Association is the Head of State, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
In Turkmenistan, alongside Akhal-Teke horses, great attention is also paid to breeding Turkmen Alabai dogs. Everyone is welcome to join the International Association “Türkmen alabaý itleri.”
On behalf of the President of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Hero-Arkadag invited the Chinese side to participate in the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, which will take place in April.
He noted that guests would be offered an extensive tour in Arkadag city dedicated to horses and invited all participants of the meeting to attend the celebrations scheduled for September as honorary guests.
Expressing sincere gratitude on behalf of all Chinese horse breeders, Secretary of the China Horse Industry Association Yue Gaofeng asked Hero-Arkadag to take a commemorative photo.
Hero-Arkadag took a group photo with the participants.
After warmly bidding farewell, Hero-Arkadag proceeded to Beijing Capital International Airport (Shoudu), from where he departed for his Homeland.
