On the meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Turkmenistan

On April 6, 2026, a meeting was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Turkmenistan Jassim Mohammed Al-Attar.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.

It was noted that the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ashgabat in March of this year will give an additional impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation.

The sides also exchanged views on a number of regional issues.
