On the visit of the Turkmenistan delegation to the Republic of Uganda

During the period of May 10-15, 2026, the delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Chairman of the Democratic Party Ata Serdarov visited Kampala to attend the inauguration ceremony of the re-elected President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

The ceremony took place at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in the capital of Uganda, Kampala.

Following the event, the Turkmen delegation was received by the President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

During the meeting, which took place at the State House Entebbe sincere greetings and congratulations on his victory in the elections and inauguration were conveyed to the President of the Republic of Uganda on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. A letter of gratitude of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was extended in appreciation of the invitation to attend the ceremony, in which best wishes were also expressed to the friendly people of Uganda.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan on his own behalf and on behalf of the friendly people of Uganda.

During the conversation, the sides noted the great potential for developing and strengthening friendly ties, as well as mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uganda.

During the visit of Turkmen delegation to the Republic of Uganda, a meeting took place between the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan Ata Serdarov and the Secretary-General of the ruling party of the country Richard Todwong.

At the meeting, the Ugandan side was informed about the foundation, main objectives and activities of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, its role in strengthening the unity and solidarity within society, fostering patriotism among the younger generation, as well as preserving national values.

The sides expressed their readiness to establish inter-party and inter-parliamentary relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uganda, as well as exchange experience.

In addition, a meeting of the Turkmen delegation was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda on the level of heads of departments, during which opportunities for developing relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, as well as cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed.

The sides exchanged views on the political consultations planned between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, and also discussed opportunities for organizing business forums and cultural events.

The Turkmen delegation was also received by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of International Cooperation Henry Oriem Okello. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral cooperation.
