The visit of the Minister of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan to New York has begun

On May 26, 2026, the working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, to New York City began. The purpose of the visit is to participate in the high-level open debate within the framework of the UN Security Council meeting on the topic: “Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-Centred International System”.

During the event and the upcoming bilateral meetings scheduled as part of the visit, it is planned to discuss topical issues on the international agenda related to maintaining international peace and security, developing multilateral cooperation, and strengthening the role of the UN in contemporary international relations.
