On January 30, 2018, a regular meeting of the Board of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) took place at the Yildiz hotel in Ashgabat. The meeting was attended by the members of the Executive Board of IFAS - the deputies of the Prime Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, members of the Executive Committee, representatives of the Foreign Ministry of the founding members of IFAS.
The following issues were considered at the meeting of the Board: approval of the work plan of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea for the period of Turkmenistan's chairmanship; preparation for the meeting of the Council of the Heads of the Founding States of IFAS and the development of the Program of Action for Assistance to the Countries of the Aral Sea Basin (ASBP-4).
Hearing the information on the work done by the Chairman of EC IFAS G. Baydjanov, the members of the Board approved the submitted report and approved the Work Plan of the Executive Committee of IFAS for the period of Turkmenistan's chairmanship.
In addition, decisions were made for the preparation for the summit of the Council of Heads of the founding states of IFAS, the main directions of ASBP-4 were approved, and the agenda of the next meeting of the Board was approved.
Participants of the meeting noted that solving the problems of the Aral Sea is one of the priorities of the founding states of IFAS.
Further, the official ceremony of signing the Decisions of the Board of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea took place.
