Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan meets with IOM Coordinator for Central Asian Countries

On 12 August 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Serhan Aktoprak, Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Kazakhstan and IOM Coordinator for Central Asian Countries.

During the meeting, priority areas of cooperation were identified, including migration management, protection of migrants’ rights, and the development of regional cooperation.

The importance of taking into account environmental factors and the principles of sustainable development of the Caspian region in international and regional cooperation was also emphasized.
