Meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Turkmenistan

On 27 August 2026,Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Turkmenistan Petra Dachtler. The Ambassador presented copies of her credentials to the Turkmen side.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment to this high post and wished her success in carrying out her diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key aspects of Turkmen-German relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

It was particularly noted that high-level contacts provide the main impetus for the development of inter-state relations.

The effectiveness of the partnership between the two countries within the framework of the UN and the EU, as well as in the Central Asia–Germany format was highlighted at the meeting. 

The diplomats noted the fruitfulness of the long-standing trade and economic ties. In this context, the active role of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy was highlighted.

The parties also discussed issues relating to the development of cooperation in the fields of culture, healthcare and education.
