Ambassador of the European Union in Turkmenistan completes diplomatic mission in the country
On 28 August 2026, a meeting took place at the MFA of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Ambassador of the European Union to Turkmenistan Beata Pęksa, who is concluding her diplomatic mission in the country.
During the meeting, the parties highly appraised the current level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union, which encompasses the political, economic, transport and energy, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The effectiveness of joint projects and programmes was noted, including in the areas of the rule of law, human rights, environment, digitalisation, transport and the private sector.
In addition to bilateral partnership mechanisms, the parties emphasized the importance of cooperation within the “EU – Central Asia” framework.
At the meeting, gratitude was expressed to Ambassador Beata Pęksa for her significant contribution to the development of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
