On February 7, 2018, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the delegation of the United Nations Population Fund headed by the Country Director Giulia Valiese who arrived to participate in a working meeting with relevant ministries and organizations to discuss the issues of Turkmenistan's joint cooperation with UNFPA for 2018 -2019 years.
In light of the importance of Turkmenistan's priority areas of cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund, issues related to the development of cooperation in various areas were discussed. Discussing the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UNFPA within the framework of joint projects and programs in the field of population and development, the sides noted progress in achieving the goals and objectives set by the joint projects in the field of development, gender equality, reproductive health, as well as the progress of UNFPA cooperation with various state institutions of Turkmenistan.
Issues of social and economic development of the country, reproductive health and gender equality policy were discussed during the meeting. Speaking about Turkmenistan's active cooperation with the UN, the sides expressed their commitment to further cooperation in the implementation of the goals of sustainable development.
