Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus

On October 7, 2026, on the sidelines of the events held within the framework of Turkmenistan’s Chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2026, a meeting was held in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov.

During the talks, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Turkmen-Belarusian relations and exchanged views on key areas of bilateral cooperation.

The importance of maintaining regular political dialogue and further strengthening interagency contacts was emphasized. Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The sides also expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and consistently develop mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus.

Following the meeting, a signing ceremony was held for the Cooperation Programme between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus for 2027–2028. The document is aimed at further developing and systematizing interagency cooperation.
