Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Holds Meeting with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia

On 14 October 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprais.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on current issues of Turkmenistan–European Union cooperation and discussed further avenues for its development, taking into account the existing potential and mutual interests of both parties.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening political-diplomatic engagement, intensifying contacts within existing bilateral and regional frameworks, and expanding cooperation in trade-economic affairs.

The parties also considered prospects for cooperation in transport, energy, environmental protection, and professional training. They emphasized the importance of consistently developing the partnership between Turkmenistan and the European Union on the basis of constructive dialogue and mutual respect.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their interest in maintaining regular contacts and further strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
