Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the US Secretary of State

On October 19, 2026, a meeting was held in Samarkand between Rashid Meredov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the United States of America.

The heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries positively assessed the efforts undertaken by both sides to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. In this context, it was noted that the C5+1 Summit of Heads of State, held in Washington in November 2025, marked an important milestone in consolidating joint efforts.

With a view to further expanding and strengthening bilateral engagement, the sides outlined a schedule of upcoming key meetings and political consultations aimed at giving fresh impetus to the Turkmen-American partnership.

The talks were also attended by Sergio Gor, Special Envoy of the President of the United States for South and Central Asia.
