On November 6, during his working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Expressing satisfaction with the opportunity to meet on the sidelines of the Summit of Central Asian Heads of State—held within the framework of the Aqaba Process on security in the field of artificial intelligence—the two leaders noted that both Turkmenistan and Jordan attach great importance to developing friendly relations and further strengthening mutually beneficial partnership.
Reaffirming the commitment of Turkmenistan to expanding cooperation with Jordan based on the principles of mutual respect and equality, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his confidence that this meeting would make a significant contribution to intensifying interstate dialogue and identifying new avenues for cooperation.
“We are ready for further cooperation with Jordan within the United Nations and other international organizations on issues of mutual interest, as well as to continue the practice of supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, trust, and stability,” said the President of Turkmenistan.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the vast potential for expanding Turkmen-Jordanian cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Noting that, given the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies, ensuring their safe and responsible use has become a key priority on the global agenda, the head of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of deepening international cooperation and coordinating the efforts of states in this area through the Aqaba Process. During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited King Abdullah II to visit Turkmenistan at a time convenient for him.
Accepting the invitation with gratitude, the King of Jordan expressed his confidence that the current meeting would provide an effective impetus for the further development of interstate relations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan wished each other good health and great success in their significant state responsibilities, and wished prosperity to the fraternal peoples of both countries.
