On April 20, 2018 the XI International duet competition "Songs that unite us" had been held in the Palace of Culture of the Minsk Tractor Plant.
Vocal duets from 12 countries (the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the People's Republic of China, Republic of Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, Poland, the Russian Federation, Romania, Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Ukraine) took part in the competition.
In order to promote the rich culture and national heritage of Turkmenistan, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus offered participation in this international contest of two students, who are studying in the Republic of Belarus.
During the contest, a video was also shown, which tells about the achievements of Turkmenistan during the years of Independence.
The best duets were determined by a professional jury, which included prominent cultural figures from countries participating in the contest, as well as famous artists.
As a result of the competition, the student duo from Turkmenistan was awarded the "People's Choice Award" and they were presented relevant diplomas.
