On November 15, 2016, political consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the Republic of South Africa have been held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. South African delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Africa, Ms. Nomaindiya Mfeketo.
Having discussed the issues of the global agenda, the sides noted with satisfaction the development of bilateral cooperation and expressed the opinion that regularly held political consultations were one of the most important mechanisms contributing to the promotion of the Turkmen-South African all-round partnership. This interaction is the foundation for the political dialogue successfully developing by both countries.
The sides discussed issues of expansion of cooperation in trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Mutual interest was noted in the development of relations in the framework of the authoritative international organizations. Noting the commitment to the intensification of trade and economic cooperation, the parties discussed the possibility of expanding the legal base. Delegations also discussed the development of relations in trade, oil and gas and textile industry.
