On April 27, 2018, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia held a round table at the PETRONAS Technical University with the participation of Turkmen students and representatives of the University's student department dedicated to the announcement in Turkmenistan the year of 2018 "Turkmenistan - the heart of the Great Silk Road" and propaganda for the wise domestic and foreign policy of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in energy and transport spheres.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia Y. Mammedov at the opening of the event informed the participants that the motto "Turkmenistan - the heart of the Great Silk Road" means a concept based on the centuries-old historical experience of the development of Turkmen statehood, cultural traditions, spiritual heritage of the people and universal values.
During the round table it was told that on February 23, 2018 in the Serhetabat district of the Mary velayat the construction of the Afghan section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the laying of power transmission and fiber-optic communication lines on the route Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) were started, as well as Serhetabat-Turgundi railway was put into operation.
Also within the framework of the round table, participants were shown video materials about the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and the ongoing domestic and foreign policy of Turkmenistan.
The event continued in an interactive format and the participants' questions were answered in full. Also, the diplomats of the Embassy of Turkmenistan told the participants about foreign policy developments in Turkmenistan, in particular, about the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Uzbekistan, held on April 23-24, 2018.
Speaking at the roundtable Turkmen students expressed their gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for his constant support and special care, which they feel not only at home but also abroad.
