On April 30, 2018, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the Head of the Country Office of the World Health Organization (WHO), Ms. Paulina Karvovska.
During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the results of Turkmenistan's long-term cooperation with the WHO and discussed issues of further multi-pronged partnership. The parties briefly reviewed the priorities for cooperation under the Biennial Collaborative Agreement for 2018-2019. Noting the high level and fruitfulness of Turkmenistan's longstanding cooperation with the WHO, the sides discussed the work plan for the near future.
In addition, the meeting participants considered the participation of the Turkmen delegation at the High-level Conference on Noncommunicable Diseases, to be held in New York in September 2018, as well as to the 71st session of the World Assembly of the WHO.
At the end of the meeting the parties agreed on further activation of contacts and development of key parameters for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
