On May 5, 2018 Tashkent hosted the XVI festival of cultural traditions and national dishes, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with diplomatic missions accredited in Uzbekistan. The event was aimed at spiritual unity of peoples and intensification of international humanitarian dialogue.
The opening ceremony was attended by the representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Uzbekistan, as well as cultural figures.
Various products were presented at the exhibition, which aroused great interest among visitors, including cotton fiber, cotton yarn, fabrics, ready-made knitted and sewn products, national keteni dresses, handmade silk carpets, as well as jewelry. This creative holiday gave an opportunity for residents and guests of Uzbekistan to get acquainted with the original Turkmen culture, going back to the depths of the century with traditions, history and modern achievements.
Together with the works of arts and crafts, the exhibition also featured dishes from national cuisine and various treats. All guests and participants were invited to try the blessed Turkmen bread and salt and other national dishes.
Within the framework of the event, a concert was held with the participation of creative groups, famous musicians, singers, folklore and ethnographic groups of brotherly Uzbekistan.
