On May 14, 2018, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovakia to Turkmenistan (with residence in Tashkent) Mr. Jan Bori, who arrived to the Turkmen capital on a working visit.
During the talks, the sides discussed issues of further cooperation between the two countries on the principles of equality, mutual benefit and respect. The parties made proposals to intensify diplomatic and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Focusing on Turkmenistan's readiness to continue multilateral cooperation with Slovakia, the Ambassador noted the need to develop trade and economic cooperation and expand contacts in the humanitarian sphere. In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, water resources management through the use of new technologies, tourism and education. It was emphasized that both sides have great potential for a significant expansion of the entire spectrum of interaction.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen side, congratulating the Ambassador on the start of activities in the country, expressed hope for the further active development of bilateral relations between the two States.
