On October 11, 2016 Astrakhan State Technical University hosted the International Student’s Conference titled "25 years of Independence and prosperity of Turkmenistan" devoted to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence and announcements of 2016 as "The Year of honoring the heritage, transforming the Motherland." The event was organized by the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) in collaboration with the Astrakhan State Technical University.
The conference was attended by the members of the Government of the Astrakhan region, heads of the Representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian in Astrakhan, representatives of higher educational institutions and social and political organizations, the Turkmen diaspora, media and youth.
The speakers of the conference praised the successes achieved by Turkmenistan in all fields over the years of independence of the country, which clearly demonstrate the correctness of the chosen path of development under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Within the framework of the conference the Embassy organized the Exhibition of Turkmenistan, where guests and participants of the conference had an opportunity to get acquainted with scientific literature and the periodical press of Turkmenistan, Turkmen national attire and objects of decorative art. Guests of the conference were received by Turkmen students in national costumes and were treated with Turkmen national sweets.
