On August 7, 2018, a meeting with the Director of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Tehran, Ms. Esther Kuisch Laroche, completing her diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
At the beginning of the meeting, a representative of an authoritative international organization expressed its sincere gratitude to the Turkmen side for the assistance and support provided in its work over the years.
During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the prospective areas of partnership, including the scientific, educational and cultural spheres, as well as cooperation in the field of preserving historical and architectural monuments. It was noted that today Turkmenistan continues to actively work on the preparation of a number of initiatives and proposals for inclusion in the world registry of UNESCO not only new historical and cultural values, but also unique natural objects of the country. In this regard, the parties discussed issues related to the preparation and holding in Ashgabat in November of this year of the next meeting of the coordinating committee for the serial nomination of the Silk Road objects on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen side thanked Ms. Esther Kuisch Laroche for her significant contribution to the comprehensive development of the traditional cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO and expressed her wishes for success in her future work.
