On October 5, 2016 at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine there was a presentation of Turkmenistan for the 2-year students of the Academy, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan in the framework of the "Year of honoring the heritage, transforming the Motherland."
Before the presentation, there was a meeting with Acting Rector of the Academy V.Tsivatyi, during which the parties discussed the plan for further cooperation on the eve of the anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan, including the holding of lectures for students on a regular basis, taking into account the interest of young people in a deeper knowledge of a friendly state.
Then, in the lecture hall of the Academy the Embassy of Turkmenistan presented to the future diplomats colorful video with a wide range of information about the achievements of Turkmenistan during independence years.
Traditional book fair has been organized, presenting a monumental multi-volume editions of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as numerous scientific, artistic works, translations, collections of poetry, and of course all the special issues of the Embassy of collaboration with the magazine «IMAGE.UA», dedicated to significant events in Turkmenistan.
Embassy informed the participants in details about the upcoming events and activities in Turkmenistan, having familiarized with the general provisions of the political and economic course of the country, aimed at rapidly improving and enhancing the development of the state under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Students learned that in September this year, there had been the grand opening of the new Ashgabat International Airport, equipped with the latest aeronautical technology. The new building has received a certificate from the Guinness Book of Records for the world's largest architectural image of carpet ornament on the roof of the main passenger terminal.
Special attention had been paid to a milestone in the development of Turkmenistan's national sport. This was a decision of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), under which Ashgabat - the first in Central Asia received the right to host V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in 2017. Telling about the games was accompanied by a display of the video representing the venue of the Games - the Olympic village, its infrastructure and facilities.
Turkmen diplomats exchanged views with the audience on the status and prospects of political and mutually advantageous trade-economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Ukraine, including in the oil and gas, chemical and power industries, construction, transport and communications. Of course, the audience was very interested with the issues of the education and training of citizens of Turkmenistan in Ukrainian universities, as well as mutual participation in the traditional Days of culture and the development of cooperation in the fields of science and health.
The Embassy of Turkmenistan has given satisfactory answers on all the questions. As highlighted in the conclusion of the event, close cooperation of the Embassy with the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine will be continued.
