On September 12, 2018, there were negotiations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the delegation headed by the Chief of Staff of the Iranian President, Mahmoud Vaezi who has arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.
During the talks, the parties discussed present matters of interstate cooperation and emphasized the mutual interest to further improve existing dialogue in politics, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. In this regard, the sides have underlined high-level political and diplomatic partnership and exchanged views on expanding mutual beneficial cooperation in this direction. It was also noted that the parties are committed to further developing regional and international cooperation, as well as within international organizations.
Developing cooperation in trade, economy, as well as energy, road and railroad transport and oil and gas industry were priority subjects during the negotiations. It has been stressed that Intergovernment Commission on economic cooperation serves to strengthen bilateral cooperation in aforementioned fields.
