On April 18, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, together with the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, organized an international scientific conference dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
The conference was attended by Ambassador of Turkmenistan D.Seyitmammedov, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, Academician R.Metreveli, President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan A.Ashirov, Director of the Georgian National Center of Manuscripts Z.Abashidze, Director of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan D.Orazsakhedov, professor of Tbilisi State University M.Jikia, director of the Institute of History and Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan R.Hojamyradov, professor, honored journalist of Georgia B.Nachkebia, chairman of the Creative Union of Writers of Georgia M.Gonashvili.
During the speeches, the participants emphasized that the literary heritage of the great poet Magtymguly Fragi has become an invaluable treasure of world art and has served to enrich the spiritual world of humanity.
As part of the event, an exhibition of the works of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, books by Magtymguly Fragi, as well as works of decorative and applied art was displayed in the foyer of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia.
The international scientific conference ended with the screening of a film about Magtymguly Fragi.
