On June 3, 2024, the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission for trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation was held via videoconference. The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of the relevant ministries and departments of the two countries.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by the Chairman of the board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Activities of Turkmenistan Rahimberdi Jepbarov and the delegation of the Republic of Korea was represented by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Ahn Dukgeun.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of interstate cooperation, primarily in the field of economic partnership, chemical, oil and gas industries as well as healthcare. It was noted that bilateral cooperation, based on mutual interest of the parties, is reaching a qualitatively new level of interaction. In this context, given the economic potential of the two countries, the existence of great opportunities for enhancing partnership in the areas of trade, investment and transport has been confirmed.
In addition, the parties particularly noted that great importance is attached to summit and high-level meetings in the development and strengthening of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
Following the meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission for trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation, a corresponding Protocol was signed.
