On 14 August 2024, a solemn event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi was held in the premises of the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries - House of Friendship. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Minsk, scientists and cultural workers, representatives of Turkmen diaspora and students of local universities, as well as the mass media.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus Nazarguly Shaguliyev and Chair of the Presidium of the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries Nina Ivanova made welcoming speeches.
The participants spoke about the role of Magtymguly Fragi’s work in the world literature and in strengthening the bonds of friendship between the peoples. The important work of Belarusian translators in translating the poems of the Turkmen poet was emphasized.
Thematic videos, exhibition of photos and books, as well as musical performances were presented at the event.
