On August 21, 2024, as part of the XVIII International Music Festival «Gathering Friends», a festive concert entitled «He Truly Became the Voice of Turkmenistan» was held in the Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the classic of Turkmen literature and great thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi.
The organizers of the concert were the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation, the art director of the Moscow International Arts Festival «Sounds of Dutar» named after N.Khalmammedov M.Huseynov and the Moscow State Conservatory.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the mass media, prominent workers of art and culture, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, as well as student youth.
Before the concert, L. Babaeva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Music History of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kulieva, gave a lecture on «The Legacy of Magtymguly and Contemporary Musical Art».
In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation E.M. Aydogdiyev emphasized that Magtymguly’s anniversary is widely celebrated in Russia. As noted, Moscow, St.Petersburg, Astrakhan, Kazan – is not a whole list of the geography of the celebrations that are taking place and will continue to take place on Russian soil.
The program of the concert of Turkmen musicians included vocal and instrumental works based on the poems of Magtymguly Fragi, as well as compositions dedicated to the great classic of Turkmen literature performed by musicians and vocalists from the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kulieva and other special music schools of the country. The concert ended with the mono-opera «Monologues of Magtymguly Fragi» by composer M. Huseynov.
An exhibition was set up in the foyer of the concert hall, featuring books and works by master painters.
